Cherry Trees - Friday After Work
"Cherry Trees" was written over a few jam sessions with Friday After Work and remains the bands proudest work to date. We were playing a lot together as an instrumental band and would have really loved to have had a competent singer, but knew nobody of the sort. This song was called "Cherry Trees" as one night Reece got a bit hypo and wrote out some psychedelic lyrics for the song on one of Jake's dodgy old laptops.
The last few lines of the chorus read something like: "…dinosaurs in the park, and cherry trees!" They were dismissed utterly ridiculous by the rest the band and we all went inside to watch Veronica Mars.
To this date, if we are in Glenn's car and this song happens to come up when the iPod is on shuffle - we let it play and bask in its glory.
UPDATE: Lyrics sheet found! It appears we had the foresight to save all documents/source files to Sarah's RUBY external drive when using the dodgy laptop. They are very random (almost like 'generated random') in nature and bordering on nonsensical.
