Dance Crew Inc
by Reece Donovan
This site found it's way onto the internet circa late 2004. It was a fun site/learning experience, set up for the crew that always wanted to dance when we got together at various events of our late high school life.
Some historical information about the site:
About making an archive copy of the site:
Some historical information about the site:
- Operated under the ShortURL "dancecrewinc.2ya.com"
- Guestbook is still active and hosted, but it never had any entries
- I can't explain the home page nationalism
- There is a hidden page on the site. It can be accessed by clicking the base of the wine glass in front of Gemma in People Pl. I will leave the password investigation to you - it's quite achievable!
About making an archive copy of the site:
- The site was deleted by freewebs, probably due to inactivity, and some work was lost. While I did not have local copies of the latest work, I did still have most of the structure on my local computer.
- The Wayback Machine had no historical information on this site
- The photos in the photo page were lost. I had to restore them from my photo library, guessing which photos their descriptions referred to. From my memories and I knew the photos were from: Sarah's Graduation, Gemma's 18th, Swanky Swing Night and PARTY '05. Some are definite matches for their historical descriptions, while some other are contentious/guesses.
- I added the "pointers" photo to the photo page (last photo). It was not in the original site, but was too good to leave out!
- I still had the source flash files, so recompiling for the archive site (removing absolute URLs) was not difficult
- I did not re-create the "hire" form, as it was lame, and more of a learning exercise in form submission to email. It has fields like 'location of event', 'expected number of attendees' etc.
- The poll is now inactive - whatever it was! A feint memory says was some dancing philosophy poll and the most popular option was probably alcohol related.
